When I visit a blog, I love to learn about who is writing to me. So if you are interested, read on to learn funky facts about me – we just might be birds of a feather.
I am a coffee connoisseur, and have worked in numerous coffee shops over the years. My favorite specialty drink is a Double Shot Mocha Breve with whipped cream, but I drink French Press every morning. I married a guy who dislikes coffee, thinking I could change that. I can’t (or at least I haven’t yet) but he was worth it.
More on that topic, my husband is the nicest person I have ever met, and I feel like the luckiest gal in the world because he chose me. He goofs off a lot, but underneath the teasing and smile is great depth. He is kind, and keeps me laughing and messes with the budget. Also, his tongue sticks out in pictures way too much.
I abhor math, yet am obsessed with budgets and being wise with money. I even worked as a teller. I’m always creating new businesses in my dreams.
I love travelling, and have been to 14 countries that I can think of off the top of my head. Several of the trips were months long doing volunteer work, all completed within a budget, debt free.
I love photography, and before I was married, often photographed weddings and portraits for friends. I even shot a project for a mission in Ethiopia!
I grew up in a converted barn on a 110 acre farm in Wisconsin, and am the third of seven kids. I had a large horse aptly named “Heartburn”, and rode him most every day in my childhood. I also raised goats. I love anything dairy, being from the Dairy land state, of course. CHEESE CURDS FOREVER!
I met my husband online – the first in my circles to do so, after I had vowed I never would try “the online thing”.
We spent the first 7 years of marriage living in Denver Colorado, and recently moved back to the Midwest. I love being back in the country after living in the city. Moving to our almost 5 acres made me feel just the book “The Little House”. Have you read it? A favorite of mine.
I’m also the first person in my circles (that I’m aware of) that is blogging with the goal of making it a full time income. I guess in my own way I am a pioneer?
I love Jesus, and am so thankful for the life He gives. My favorite verse is John 10:10
I used to play viola quite well and also took voice lessons with my sisters. We love singing whenever we are together. Music is always playing in our home.
I’m a little obsessed about interior decorating and design. I usually have an average of at least 3 projects ongoing. A weird diversity of passions and talents, I know.
I’m an extrovert in my comfort zone, and feel shy outside of it. I thrive on quality time.
My husband is a Type 1 Diabetic, and also has an autoimmune disease called Wegener’s Granulomatosis that affects his lungs. I lost both my father and younger sister unexpectedly, so I live with a constant awareness of the brevity of life, hence my desire to live it fully!
